The Darker Forces
Sept. 7, 2011
I watch the darker forces intervene,
In moments when we falter or we fall,
A subtle probing of our weaknesses,
Stealthily in silence they attack
Delighting in their use of human pawns
Who readily and eagerly acquiesce
To sate the ego or the vital's needs,
Desires' formed from patterns of the past
Established in lives we all have lived before
Fashioned from the dust of earthly clay.
And yet an eternal resident abides,
Watcher and guide who asks us to recall
The reason we have come, to find our soul,
Hidden behind the seven veils of mind
That screen from us the light that we have known
And mute the voice the spirit-self would hear.
These persisting remnants we must now discard,
Prohibit entry through the sanctum's door
And all our low propensities annul.
